Another esker likely used as a blind to hide and watch caribou.
Hummocks
Hummock fields are quite common in this area--a common characteristic of Arctic landscape. There are a few theories of how hummocks form. However, all theories relate to the effect of continual freezing in wet areas. None of the theories I have read seem overly convincing. One theory suggests winter freezing causes polygonal cracks in the soil and trickles of melt water erode and enlarge these making the hummock shape (Pielou, 1994; A naturalist's guide to the Arctic). The hummocks can be quite uniform and cover large areas.

Clouds
Notice how the clouds take the form of the landscape. Occurs from the highwinds that reflect over the hills.
